Why Mallorca

An island move, planned as one job

Mallorca has a long-settled British and northern European community, spread between Palma, the southwest around Andratx and Santa Ponsa, the Tramuntana villages and the quieter interior towns like Santa Maria and Campos.

The thing that makes an island move different is the handover. Your belongings travel overland to the mainland port, cross by sea, and are then delivered by road on the island. We arrange the whole chain and quote it as a single price, so there is no separate shipping agent to deal with and no second invoice at the port.

How the move works

UK to Mallorca, step by step

After a quick survey — in person or over video — you get a fixed, itemised quote. Then it runs like this.

01

We collect and pack in the UK

Our crew loads at your door anywhere in the UK. Full professional packing is worth taking here — an extra sea leg means an extra handling stage.

02

We cross, clear customs and ship

Ferry or Eurotunnel, through France and down to the mainland port, then the sea crossing to Palma. Your Spanish duty-relief pack and valued inventory are prepared before we load.

03

We deliver to your door on the island

Unloaded and reassembled where you want it, with a smaller vehicle for Palma old town or a Tramuntana village address.

What moving into Mallorca actually involves

Sailing schedules set the timetable. The crossing itself is short, but the load has to meet a specific sailing, so island moves are planned backwards from the ferry rather than forwards from your collection date. That is why seven to ten days is realistic and why booking early in high summer matters — August capacity out of the mainland ports goes quickly.

On the island, access divides sharply. Palma old town and the streets behind the cathedral are narrow, one-way and partly restricted, needing a small vehicle and a permit. The Tramuntana villages — Deia, Soller, Valldemossa, Banyalbufar — are worse for a lorry: hairpin bends, overhanging branches, stone walls with no give and lanes where a long vehicle cannot turn at all. We transfer to a small truck for those. The flatter interior and the southwest urbanizaciones take a full vehicle without difficulty.

What it costs

How much does a removal to Mallorca from the UK cost?

A removal from the UK to Mallorca typically costs between £850 and £5,400 depending on the volume you are moving, and takes 4-8 days door to door. A shared part-load is the cheapest way to move a smaller home; a dedicated vehicle is faster and suits a full household.

4-bed home or larger50-65 m³£3,700 - £5,4003-6 days
  • Every figure includes loading, the crossing, fuel, tolls and delivery into the room.
  • Access affects the price: a parking permit, a lift booking or an external furniture lift are priced at survey, not added on the day.
  • Transfer of Residence relief means no duty or VAT on your own household goods when you are moving your main home, and we prepare the paperwork with you.

The table above is a guide. Your exact price comes from a free survey.

The cost of a move to Mallorca varies with more than the number of rooms. What shapes your price:

  • The size of your home — a studio, a two-bed flat and a four-bed house are very different volumes to move.
  • Access at both ends — stairs, lifts, narrow streets or a long carry all affect the job.
  • Packing — full professional packing, fragile items only, or you pack yourself.
  • Dedicated lorry or shared part-load — the space and timing your move needs.
  • Storage & specialist items — pianos, artwork, or storage either side of the Channel.

Mallorca move FAQs

Questions people ask us about this route

How much does a removal from the UK to Mallorca cost?
Typically between £850 for a small shared part-load and £5,400 for a large four-bed household. The exact figure depends on volume, access at both ends and whether you take a dedicated vehicle or share one. A free survey gives you one fixed, itemised price.
How long does a move from the UK to Mallorca take?
Seven to ten days door to door, because the load has to connect with a specific sailing. In July and August book as early as you can — ferry capacity is the limiting factor, not the road.
Do I have to arrange the ferry crossing myself?
No. We arrange the sea leg as part of the move and quote it inside the single fixed price, so there is no separate shipping agent and no second bill at the port.
Can you deliver to a village in the Tramuntana?
Yes. Those lanes will not take a full lorry, so we transfer the load to a small truck for the final leg — it is standard practice for that side of the island.
What paperwork does Spain require?
Your NIE, a padrón certificate for the new address, proof of previous UK residence and a valued inventory. We prepare the inventory with you.
