Removals toBrussels
The shortest international move we make. Weekly departures from the UK to Brussels, with the customs relief and the commune parking permit handled as part of the job.
The closest capital, and the most institutional move in Europe
Brussels is the shortest international removal we run and one of the steadiest. The European institutions, NATO, the trade associations, law firms and consultancies that orbit them, and the press corps covering all of it, together employ a very large British population on fixed-term postings. That produces a particular kind of move: a defined start date, a full household, and a reasonable chance of moving back again in three or four years.
Most UK arrivals settle in the same handful of communes, Ixelles, Etterbeek, Woluwe and Uccle among them, largely around the European Schools. Those are also the communes where the housing is grandest and the staircases are narrowest, which is the part worth planning for.

UK to Brussels, step by step
After a quick survey — in person or over video — you get a fixed, itemised quote. Then it runs like this.
We survey and fix the price
Video walkthrough or an in-person visit. One itemised number covering collection, the crossing, customs and delivery, including the external lift and the commune parking reservation where your address needs them.
We collect, pack and clear customs
Our crew loads at your door. Eurotunnel or ferry, then barely two hours up the A16 from Calais. Since Brexit you need Transfer of Residence relief and a valued inventory, and we prepare both so nothing stalls at the border.
We deliver into your home
Not to the pavement. We apply to your commune for the parking reservation, bring a monte-meubles where the staircase will not take your furniture, and reassemble what we took apart.

What moving into a Brussels apartment actually involves
The classic Brussels maison de maitre is a tall, narrow nineteenth-century townhouse, frequently divided into flats, with high ceilings, a handsome staircase that turns too tightly for a sofa, and often no lift at all. A monte-meubles, the external furniture lift, is standard equipment here rather than a contingency, and on upper floors we plan for one at survey instead of discovering the problem on the day.
The administrative side has a local twist worth knowing. Brussels is nineteen separate communes, and the temporary parking reservation that lets a lorry stand outside your door is applied for from **your** commune, not from the city as a whole, each with its own form, fee and notice period, in French or Dutch depending on where you are. Getting that wrong is the usual reason a Brussels delivery has to be rescheduled. The whole Brussels-Capital Region also operates a low-emission zone, and our vehicles are compliant.

How much does a removal to Brussels from the UK cost?
A removal from the UK to Brussels typically costs between £650 and £4,200 depending on the volume you are moving, and takes 2 to 5 days door to door. A shared part-load is the cheapest way to move a smaller home; a dedicated vehicle is faster and suits a full household.
| Move size | Volume | Typical cost | Door-to-door |
|---|---|---|---|
| Part load | 5-10 m³ | £650 - £1,100 | 2-5 days |
| Studio / 1-bed | 15-20 m³ | £950 - £1,450 | 2-4 days |
| 2-bed home | 25-30 m³ | £1,500 - £2,200 | 2-3 days |
| 3-bed home | 35-45 m³ | £2,100 - £3,000 | 2-3 days |
| 4-bed home or larger | 50-65 m³ | £2,900 - £4,200 | 2-3 days |
- Every figure includes loading, the Channel crossing, fuel, tolls and delivery into the room.
- Access affects the price: a parking reservation from the commune, a lift booking or an external furniture lift are priced at survey, not added on the day.
- Transfer of Residence relief means no duty or VAT on your own household goods when you are moving your main home, and we prepare the paperwork with you.

The cost of a move to Brussels varies with more than the number of rooms. What shapes your price:
- The size of your home — a studio, a two-bed flat and a four-bed house are very different volumes to move.
- Access at both ends — stairs, lifts, narrow streets or a long carry all affect the job.
- Packing — full professional packing, fragile items only, or you pack yourself.
- Dedicated lorry or shared part-load — the space and timing your move needs.
- Storage & specialist items — pianos, artwork, or storage either side of the Channel.
