What moving into Eindhoven actually involves
Eindhoven was heavily rebuilt after the war and has expanded steadily since, so the housing stock is mostly modern by Dutch standards. Streets are wide, houses commonly have driveways or dedicated parking, and apartment blocks are new enough to have proper lifts and loading access. The near-vertical staircases and hoisting beams of the old canal cities are largely absent here, which makes it the easiest full-household delivery we make in the country.
The exceptions are the redeveloped industrial buildings around Strijp-S and the city centre, where old Philips factories have been converted into apartments. Those are handsome and often have goods lifts, but access is managed by the building and needs booking in advance. Elsewhere we reserve a parking bay with the municipality where the street requires it, which is a lighter process than in Amsterdam.
