What moving into Bilbao actually involves
The Casco Viejo — the Siete Calles — is pedestrianised and genuinely narrow, and the buildings there are tall, old and fitted with the smallest lifts in the city. Those addresses are a permit, a small van and usually an external furniture lift. Abando and Indautxu are grander nineteenth-century blocks: better stairwells, but street parking is scarce and needs a reserved bay.
The other Bilbao specific is topography. Deusto, Begona and the streets climbing away from the river are steep, and several are one-way with parked cars on both sides. In winter this is a wet city, so we plan floor protection and covered access properly rather than treating it as an afterthought — rain is a far more likely complication here than heat.
