Removals to Lyon from the UK
Lyon sits at the confluence of the Rhône and Saône rivers, about 470km south-east of Paris. It’s a practical destination for European movers — well-connected by motorway and with a substantial international community. We run the route weekly from the UK.
Transit and route
London to Lyon is roughly 1,150km. Dedicated vehicle transit runs 3–5 days, part-load 5–8 days. The route goes via the Channel, south through Paris on the A6, and down the Autoroute du Soleil to Lyon. French weekend HGV restrictions apply on this route — we plan departure days around them as standard.
Access in Lyon
Vieux-Lyon — the old town on the west bank of the Saône — is a UNESCO site with narrow cobbled streets (traboules) that rule out full-size HGVs entirely. Deliveries here need a smaller vehicle for the final section. Part-Dieu, Confluence, and the newer residential areas to the east are more accessible for a full lorry.
Lyon also operates a low-emission zone (ZFE) covering most of the city. Our vehicles carry the correct Crit’Air classification — this doesn’t affect your move logistics but is worth knowing if you’re bringing a diesel vehicle from the UK.
