London to Bordeaux is roughly 1,100km including the Channel crossing. On a dedicated vehicle with no other drops, transit runs 3–5 days. On a part-load service with other consignments, allow 5–7 days. We depart weekly and can usually accommodate moves at two to three weeks’ notice, though July and August book out earlier.

The route runs via Folkestone or Dover, across to Calais or Coquelles, then south on the A26 to Paris and the A10 to Bordeaux. French weekend HGV restrictions mean lorries over 7.5 tonnes can’t run on motorways between 10pm Saturday and 10pm Sunday, so we plan departure days around that rather than fighting it.

Central Bordeaux — the Triangle d’Or and the historic Chartrons district — has 18th-century streets that were built before HGVs existed. Delivery to a city-centre address often needs a smaller transfer vehicle for the last section. The Chartrons in particular has a morning market that closes some streets until midday on Sundays.

The suburbs and newer residential areas south of the city (Mérignac, Pessac, Talence) are more straightforward for a full lorry. Tell us your exact delivery address when you book and we’ll plan the access in advance.

Like all UK to France removals since Brexit, a Bordeaux move requires a formal customs declaration and Transfer of Residence (ToR1) application before the vehicle crosses. We prepare the French and English inventory and lodge the paperwork ahead of departure. You need your passport, proof of your Bordeaux address, and a list of what’s coming so we can build the formal inventory from it.
