Normally no. Moving your main home to France usually qualifies for Transfer of Residence relief, so no duty or VAT on your own household goods, provided you have owned and used them for at least six months and import them within twelve months of moving. A detailed valued inventory is required, and we prepare the paperwork with you. Furnishing a holiday home is not a transfer of residence and is treated differently.
